Effective teaching at Bulleen Heights is the provision of a safe learning environment within which consistency is valued and motivated staff engage, instruct and assess students along a continuum of learning to achieve individual goals.
Bulleen Heights School is a Department of Education specialist school for students with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. The school enrolment for 2020 is 267 students. We have two school campuses; Pleasant Rd Campus and Manningham Rd Campus.
In the year 2020 the school will be divided into two sub schools. Students will be in groups based upon a combination of age, developmental level and maturity.
Curriculum development and implementation across the school is based on Victorian Curriculum, providing a framework for planning the whole school curriculum by setting out standards for students to achieve in core areas. At Bulleen Heights School the learning standards assist in the development of student programs, according to individual need.
A psychologist, occupational therapists, speech therapists and social worker will work with us this year. This team of professionals compliments our educational programs.
Inclusion is supported at all levels of the school. Primary School groups access programs from our classroom at Templestowe Valley Primary School and St.Clements , as well as a number of students throughout the school participating, on a part-time basis, in a range of programs at neighbourhood schools. Secondary School students work on a range of inclusive projects with local secondary colleges
Bus transport for students living within the Designated Transport Area (DTA) is provided by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
