Multidisciplinary Team
Multidisciplinary team (MDT)
The multidisciplinary team at Bulleen Heights School is led by our psychologist and includes speech pathology and occupational therapy. The team enjoys supporting our students to feel a strong sense of wellbeing which fosters engagement, a sense of belonging and confidence to communicate.
Psychology
Prishni Jhugroo is our psychologist and head of the multidisciplinary team. Prishni supports the school community in the maintenance of the psychological health of all its members but primarily our students. Prishni oversees the funding process for students to enrol at our school and conducts assessments as required. Prishni also coordinates the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support framework and assists staff in addressing students’ extreme behaviours. Prishni is a member of the school’s leadership team.
Speech Pathology
Our team of speech pathologists work with classroom staff to support students in the following areas:
- Assessment
- Language
- Social skills
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- Speech
- Play
- Community access
Speech pathologists consult with external therapists as needed. The speech pathology team also provides training to staff and families.
Occupational Therapy
Our team of Occupational Therapists work with classroom staff to support students in the following areas:
- Assessment
- Sensory motor development skills
- Play
- Engagement in group activity
- Social Skills
- Transport Safety
- Fine and Gross Motor skill development
- Self help skills, toileting and hygiene skills
- Self regulation and emotional regulation
Occupational Therapists consult with external therapists as needed and provides training to staff and families.
