Udderly Amazing!

During Term 2 our school participated in the ‘Picasso Cows’ program run by Dairy Australia. We were provided with a life size fibreglass cow in which to decorate on the theme ‘Farm to Plate’. Our school’s design was based around ‘Snowy’ the cow (creator – Simon P26) and her milk journey from the farm to our plates in the form of Moo-velous foods such as cheese, yoghurt and milk. We Cow-laborated with each other to create a Legend-dairy cow! Upon completion, we submitted a learning journal to support our design to Dairy Australia which detailed our process, what we learnt, work samples, photos and videos beautifully captured by Marcel Peeters, our Media Coordinator.

An independent judge assessed ‘Snowy’ on her design, decoration and the creation of the learning journal against a judging rubric in which we received a perfect 50 out of 50 scorecard!

It turned out that ‘Snowy’ the cow was the cream of the crop and Bulleen Heights won the ‘OVERALL WINNER’ prize Australia wide. Apart from now making ‘Snowy’ part of our Bulleen Heights community, we also received some Moo-la, $2,000 which the students were super excited about and are now considering what to purchase for our school.

‘Snowy’ will soon be on display in the PRC front reception and then may Moo-ve around the school.
