Book Week

Book Week, ‘Book an Adventure’ was an adventure packed week for PRC students. Throughout the week students were involved in a diverse range of fun and stimulating activities.

Classrooms incorporated short-listed book activities designed to stimulate students’ imaginations and reading for enjoyment, and completed fun and engaging activities.

On Tuesday students participated in Speech Therapist Activities in the library, which involved going on a ‘Dino Adventure.’ Students enjoyed digging for fossils, going on scavenger hunts and experimenting with volcanos.

The Book Week activities in the Multi Room were fantastic and adventurous. There were so many different multisensory activities to choose from. The students loved immersing themselves in the many activities that included digging for Wally, completing scenes from books, making paper birds and reading and watching books come alive on the big screen.

Later in the week, the ‘Scavenger Hunt Bingo’ was a fun and exciting activity. Students used their investigative skills to find famous book characters for their bingo charts. Soundscape with its wide-open spaces, trees, playgrounds and cubbies made it the perfect location for the scavenger hunt.

On Friday as a culmination of the week, the students loved the Book Week dress up parade. The costumes were exciting and created great conversation starters. Staff, families and students enjoyed walking and talking. It was great to see plenty of community involvement.
